Myrrh has a long history of use in the Mediterranean region as fragrance and spice.
The small, thorny tree species of the genus Commiphora tree produces a resin which 'leaks' out from the bark solidifying into “tears”. It is available in various grades, which depends on the time of harvesting and what part of the tree it is taken from. The resin is then hand-sorted for quality.
